The superintendent of JS Morton High School District 201 in the Illinois communities of Cicero and Berwyn, Michael Kuzniewski has more than three decades of experience at almost every level of education. A board member of the Alliance of Business and Commerce for Cicero, Michael Kuzniewski is also a member of the Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO).
Since 1952, the Illinois Association of School Business Officials has worked to promote the top standards in the industry, develop members into visionary leaders, establish alliances between like-minded educational organizations, and connect members with each other and with valuable resources. In addition to an annual conference, the IASBO offers a number of continuing-education programs throughout the year. The programs, which involve master’s and doctoral degrees, work in partnership with universities across the state.
To recognize and support excellence in school business management, the IASBO also sponsors a foundation that awards scholarships and financial grants. Honored at the organization’s annual conference, members who are recognized for their service may send funds to a school-related cause of their choice. With awards for distinguished service and the implementation of new ideas, the IASBO foundation’s top honor is the Monarch Award. Not only does it recognize notable achievement and the recipient's career, the Monarch Award also recognizes service at every level of an individual’s community.
